Volunteer Opportunities
Are you interested in volunteering?
We are a volunteer-centric organization. Volunteers help in the kitchen, delivery meals, serve on the board, help with special projects and help during events. We are able to serve older people and people with disabilities because of community and volunteer support!
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our program, providing the warm, human touch that means so much to a homebound individual. We are always looking for additional volunteers. If you think you'd like to volunteer, even for just one day per month, please contact us or fill out the forms below to get started.
VOLUNTEER TO DELIVER MEALS
Volunteer drivers not only bring a meal, they bring a smile to someone in need. Meals leave LMOW at 10:45, and it takes about an hour of your day to deliver a route. Most drivers work one day a week or substitute on an as needed basis.
VOLUNTEER IN THE KITCHEN
Kitchen helpers work with our cooks to prepare and package meals, serve them in the dining room and help with cleanup. They get the meals ready to go out to the drivers and help prepare the dining room for the day's meal. Kitchen helpers are needed 8:00am - 12:30pm. They normally work one day a week.
VOLUNTEER FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS
Special project volunteers may volunteer their professional expertise in areas such as accounting, computer programming, fundraising or editing, to name a few.
